AP Scores-be consistent on ID

Just a warning to those of you soon to take AP Exams. S didn't put his SS# on AP exams he took in 9th and 10th grade. He did put it on AP exams he took in 11th. As it turns out, the system that aggregates your test scores doesn't have an audit function built in to identify potential duplicate identities and, in his situation, created two separate records.

So even if you have the same name, address and birthdate, and are going to the same high school for all 4 years, you can end up with two unlinked AP records. We discovered this when S didn't get the highest level of AP recognition. When we called to find out why, we learned that his record didn't reflect all of his exams. Only after some research, did they figure out the problem.

Unless they have corrected this problem, I'm sure it happens to lots of kids every year who don't notice that their records are incomplete until they get to college and realize that they aren't getting the credit they thought they were.

Is there anyway to verify on-line if SS# was put on earlier APs?

I was checking my AP Score report from last year, and it has my birthday listed as 1929. I’m not exactly sure why it took me so long to notice, but I’m glad I did right before the AP exams start this year.

Mine says my name is Nicol te instead of Nicolette. Now when I get pamphlets from colleges they address them to Nicolte. Must not have filled in the circles darkly enough…

Thanks for the heads up
