So I only got a 3 on AP English. Would it negatively affect my chance in getting into Cornell School of Arts and Sciences? I got a 5 on AP Chemistry and I have good SAT Subject Test scores.

No, because they don’t require that you send in AP test scores. Please look this kind of thing up before you post- there are literally dozens of threads asking the same question.

i did look it up before i asked and most people had answers contrary to yours and they said AP scores matter as much as SAT Subject tests and the reason i asked was to find out whether that was true or not.

My son was admitted ED and didn’t send any AP scores until summer before attending. I don’t think they matter at all for admission – they weren’t required for application.

Same for my daughter (at a different school) - AP scores were sent in June AFTER admission.

Ap scores are used for placement, not as a basis for admission. However, they do care about your grades in AP classes.
