AP scores for the class of 2013

In case you do know, LSU has received our AP scores.

How do you know?

Thisdude415- I sent you a PM on how to check to see if LSU has your scores.

Ok, I got it, and I think it’s of interest to everyone who will be reading this forum. Let me know if you want me to delete this post.

Alright, so… If I tested out 26 hrs due to ACT scores/spring testing and the credits aren’t showing up under “Degree Audit,” what’s going on? Should I email someone? Do I just need to wait?

My AP scores didn’t show up in the application status or degree audit. Does anyone know if they are still recording them or should I be concerned?

Coquelicot- My friend and I were discussing this just the other day. She took six hours of math at LSU last year, and she placed out of the first English at LSU due to her ACT score. Her degree audit has not been updated. However, I took the six hours of Math at Southeastern this past year, and my AP scores got me out of the first English at LSU. My degree audit is up to date.

My friend and I came up with the theory that LSU likes to handle all outside business first (transcripts from other other schools, AP scores, etc.) before they handle any exemptions through LSU. I know it seems backwards, but that’s my reasoning.

I would wait before classes start to contact the Office of Registar. They could be really busy trying to process everything from AP scores, high school transcripts, and testing from all the orientations. If they haven’t updated your degree audit by August 24th then I would sent them an email or go visit them.

Julius305- I have some friends who are in the same boat as you are. Their scores aren’t up yet. I would just wait a few more days before contacting them. Hopefully, AP scores will be out in our mailboxes sometime this week.

What ACT/SAT scores do you need to palce out of required English and Math courses?

[Freshman Orientation](Orientation | LSU Office of Retention & Student Success)

If you scroll down a little bit, you’ll see the section with the ACT/SAT scores.

Thanks for the info! I just feel anxious not seeing the credit on my degree audit. I WANT THOSE HOURS. I’ll just try to stay calm and give them time to update everything. If that doesn’t happen soon, I still have my ACT score report and the official document with all the hours I tested out of at spring testing, so I think I’m safe.

I don’t think this covers everything, but here’s what I know:

If your ACT English subscore plus your composite score is 65 or greater, you place out of all required English and can take 2000 level classes.

Scoring a 25 or higher in math on the ACT will earn you credit for Math 1021, aka algebra. That’s the only math course you can test out of via the ACT (there are SAT scores that will do the same thing, but I hate the SAT and only focused on the ACT). You can test out of trig (Math 1022) by passing a trig exam at spring testing.

Last year they didn’t show up in the audit until about the end of first semester.
