AP scores in

I got a 3 on the Calc AB exam...meaning I got Calculus credit. But what should I do about the math placement exam? Is there any benefit in still taking it? Or should I just prepare to go to 31A?

So the change is permanent! Darn...I always thought a 4 on the test would suffice for 31A. Guess I have to take it now. :(

Does UCLA post all the scores you get even if you fail a test (Lower than a 3)? Because I have all my scores in except for 2 I took this year (other ones from this year are in). Thanks.

all scores should/will be posted

can someone please clarify the calculus/31A scenario? (Does ap credit (pass) for calculus AB omit the math placement test? also, what score is required for credit (and for placemetn into 31B?)).

When I took the AP Calculus test in May 2006, I had my scores sent to UCLA. On the My.Ucla.Edu site, it shows my Calculus grade, but should it show all my previous AP scores? Because it doesn't show. Have they received my older scores when I ask my AP grade to be sent to UCLA?

It might be that your scores got separated. It happened to me last year. Apparently I put my social security number one year and didn't put it in the next, so that my scores ended up being logged under two different files.

For engineering, what does AP credit mean for "Art History 8.0 units," for example. In the General Education list of courses for engineering there are specific ones that can be taken in the area of art history. Will the general "art history" units apply to these courses or not?

if you are engineering you will most likely be able to get the credit, either directly or through petitioning. For Letters and Sciences, however, it strictly states Ap's can NOT be used to fufill ge requirements.

Even if you got a 5 on the Calc test can you still take 31A because u want to?

From my understanding, I think you have to petition/ask to be placed in 31A if your AP score let you pass out of the class. Not 100% sure though.

you don't get passed out of Stat 10 w/ a 4-5 now either

is there something wrong if my.ucla hasn't gotten my ap scores?

my scores arent up and i did write down ucla as school to send it to.. weird.

My D's AP score is not on her MyUCLA page. Gettin' nervous here.

Neo Yoyo, you said that you got a 3 on the CAlc AB.. Was that what you expected to get??
I haven't received my score yet but I hope to get a 3 or better??
Did you think the test was easy or did you study for the test at alll?
Thanks!!!

So does anyone know what's the deal with getting a 3/4 on Calc AB and which Math class we're automatically placed in? Or do we need to take the placement exam?

http://www.math.ucla.edu/undergrad/apcredit.html

that's what u get placed into, but i think you can petition to be placed lower

ln17, I expected to get a 4.

"Students taking the AB exam who receive 1, 2, 3 or 4 must take the Math Diagnostic Test."

Well, Fandango, according to bruinboy's link, we have to take the placement exam.
