ok so i saw my transfer credit report. is your score the number in the brackets? like if one of the columns say 4.0 [5] does that mean you got four units of credit and a score of 5?

and what about the part that says "no transfer credit" or something? it doesnt give the exam that you arent getting credit for...i kinda understand it, but sill a little confused

Thanks!!

You get 4 units for each AP passed with a 3,4 or 5 and your score is the number in brackets. The no transfer credit section has your subscores and your other APs as you can only receive credit for 8 (8x4=32 max credits).

Quick question: What is the advantage of having extra units in your record since most of the AP's don't qualify for GE credit?

Class registration is by credits so the more credits you have, the earlier you register and you have a better chance of getting the classes you want.

If you get the full 32 credits from APs, can you get your masters in Engineering in less than 5 years?

If you have some AP units (in particular, waiving 2 semesters of calculus can help a lot, as well as US History waiving a GE), are willing to take 5 classes some semesters, and are fine with not taking a whole lot of "free electives" it is possible to finish all that in 4 years.

I knew one person who finished a BS CECS + MS EE in 4 years, and a couple who did it in 4.5 years.

I don't know that having the full 32 AP units helps a whole lot in that department, except for earlier registration times. Having class waivers (such as category 1 & 4 GE's, calc, chem, CS...) is probably much more helpful to people trying to graduate early.

Probably having just 28 or 24 AP units would work fine too, since you can do some 1 or 2 unit classes to make up the unit deficiency if that becomes a problem. (I had 28 AP units coming in)
