Spanish Literature - 4
U.S. Gov't - 3
English Literature - 2...:(
English Language - 3 (Re-took it to get a higher score. I didn't...)

My friend got a 5 on Comp Sci A last year without studying and then a 3 on AB this year, again without studying.

Moral of the story: don't be overconfident. Especially if you have a crappy teacher.

11th grade: U.S. History- 5
12th grade: European History- 5
English Lit- 5
Spanish Language- 5
U.S. Gov't- 5

I did not expect those scores, especially in European history or Government...

not yet daniel--some of your scores look like 1/2 credit ones, maybe?

Starting in 2004 (I think? Or was it 2003?) the Collegeboard decided that AP exams that ALL exams will be counted equally for awards.

Does that mean physics C== 2 0ne for mech. and one for E&G? If you take calc AB as a soph and bcas a jr., does that give you 2 also?

Yeah.

If you take Calc BC, the AB subscore doesn't count as an exam, but if you take both Calc BC and Calc AB, then they count as two. And for Music Theory, the aural subscore doesn't count as a separate exam.

So what do AP scores really mean in terms of admission?

If you are applying to a large state school that uses a formula--usually nothing. If you are applying ivy, better have a slew of 5's, if you have a whole lot of them, maybe one four can creep in.

If you are applying to a top techie or science program, you should have 5's on the math-science platter (BC, chem, physics C, and Maybe bio, just for them to take your application seriously.

German-- 5
Microecon-- 4
Calc AB-- 4
Physics C Mechanics-- 1

Can't complain too much. German wasn't difficult, my Econ teacher hadn't gone over a few things on the exam, and Calculus has never been my best subject, although the exam itself went pretty well. With Physics... I'm kind of relieved I got a 1 in that I didn't think it was possible for more than 20% of the people sitting the exam to be more clueless on the test than I was! :)

honestly, i doubt ap scores will make or break anyone's admission.

i got into a top/ivy school w/ 2 4's, 2 5's, and I know others that have done it with 2s , 3s..etc. It is your school and your school's quality that determines how important the aps are, unless you are a homeschooler. But don't focus on ap exams, they are one of the least important components of your application. Study, do the best you can, and then leave them be. Its much better for your sanity.

alita, did u have very strong SATs then?

AP Biology: 5
AP U.S History: 5
AP Statistics: 4

eh..fck stat lol

How does someone get a "star" on an AP?

A "star"? What do you mean?

:)

a star or * means that you got less than a 1 on the ap.. i'm just wondering how ppl get them.. do you have to get the entire test wrong or something?

U.S. History - 5
Calc. BC - 5
AB Subscore - 5
Macroeconomics - 5
Biology -5

Awesome

Calc BC- 5 (AB sub 5 obviously)
Biology - 5
Microeconomics - 5
Macroeconomics - 4 (DAMN, this is the one non-5 i really needed a 5 on)
Eng Lang and Comp (last year) - 4
USH (last year) - 3
French - Pending....

Two questions about APs: What colleges accept credit for a 5 on the AP World History exam. And do you guys usually do better on AP exams senior year than junior year? This was my first year taking the APs and I completely bombed (failed) 2 of my tests. I hope that with my experience of taking these ******* hard tests, I would be better prepared and do better next year.

Woah, I didnt even know it was possible to get a star (*) thingy.

:)

less than a 1 and u get a star? does that mean u get a negative score? i guess that could happen if u really screwed up on the multiple choice.
