US: 4 (darn! thought I had the five)
English Literature and Composition: 3 (miracle!- I skipped like 20 MC and wrote horrible essays)

I'm going to try to be as self-effacing as possible, as this is my first post: I used to read the old forum religiously, and I had been trying to get back my old name on this new one for a while, but then I just made a new account. Nice to see that the same zeal is still there, if not increased with the 2400 SAT and the new APs that are coming next year.

But as for the actual post and thread.
I called with a credit card (of course) and it worked! So shocked, but also expectant to the point of bloodlust. I'm sure everyone knows about waiting and checking the mailbox several times an hour for weeks on end, hoping that the College Board will finally send the AP scores to New York quickly, since it's so close to New Jersey. Great thing I didn't wait this year . . . that would have been agony.

As for this year's scores, all except one came up, which is good because two of those that came up were late. [* (asterisk) for self-study]

5 - Calculus BC (5 - AB subscore)
5* - English Literature and Composition
5* - Comparative Government and Politics
5 - United States Government and Politics
5* - Human Geography
5* - Environmental Science
5* - Art History
5* - Macroeconomics
5* - Microeconomics
5 - Biology
4 - Spanish Language (better than a 3, which was, until today, my best hope, but it's such a kick in the pants contextually)
_* - Computer Science AB (that's probably going to be around a 3, but they don't have any record of my taking the test - surprised face (!)) (did A with an unprepared teacher, but took AB - that was the longest day of studying that I've ever done)

They don't tell you your previous years' grades, but oh well:
11th grade:
5* - Physics C: Electricity and Magnetism
5* - Physics C: Mechanics
5 - English Language and Composition
5 - Calculus AB
5* - Statistics
5* - Psychology
5 - United States History
5* - Music Theory (5 - Aural Subscore, 5 - Non-Aural Subscore)
5* - Physics B (had something of a nonsense teacher)

10th grade:
5 - Chemistry
5* - European History
5 - World History

My best advice is to use the Barron's book, except in cases where time is short and the Princeton Review book makes things simpler and shorter -- I honestly wish there were such a book for Environmental Science (500 pages). Rudman's and Art History textbook (the latter is significant) for Art History. English is something that sort of happens over time with SAT Verbal and reading. Look into both Barron's and PR for Economics, definitely. Alternatively for Biology, Cliff Notes book is pretty good. PR for Computer Science all the way, or probably some other book I never really cared to look into. Spanish you just have to know (I sort of do, but not that much), practice reading, writing, speaking, and pray in Spanish some -- that might help. Barron's was too complicated in Physics C for me, so I used PR. Calculus exams -- you can use Barron's . . . I just relied on the class and didn't do much for them. The Psychology exam was the Barron's practice tests. Statistics isn't so bad out of the Barron's book. US Government (Barron's), US History (doesn't really matter as long as you acquire the historical knowledge, but a smattering of review books is good to get questions out). Comparative Government was pretty good out of a special book by Ethel Wood that is white and unadorned. I'm tired of writing for now. I'll write in shorter posts later on.

Nemo

4s are horrible? i dont know what kind of a world you live but even SELECTIVE colleges will give credit for a 4 on an AP. good gosh.

Nemo, that's crazy....you're an AP Scholar, right? (Speaking of which, when are the scholars announced?) Were you expecting that 5 in human geography, or were you pleasantly surprised? Just trying to get an idea, because I'm going to wait for my score in the mail.

This year:
Chem - 5
Physics C (both parts) - 5
World - 5
Macro - 5
Micro - 4
Eng. Lang - 5
Eng. Lit - 5
Spanish Lang. - 3

Previous:
Calc BC - 5
Stats - 5
US Gov - 5
Euro - 5
Comp. Sci A - 5
Bio - 5

"You'll recieve them by mail by July 15---they start mailing on the 2nd."

I'm not so sure. Last summer I was away from home when they arrived, but from the 15th on I would e-mail my parents every day to see if they had come yet. Needless to say they didn't arrive till around the 20th so I'm not expecting them to come till then again this year.

By the way I only took 2 APs last year, and got a 3 on one of them, and still did fine in the college admisssions process (and better than some kids who took more or got better scores), so one sub-par grade is not going to ruin you.

I can see why someone like Yulsie or someone who is already scheduling for fall classes would call to receive scores early, but for most students, esp. rising seniors, I don't see why it would be necessary to pay the $8 to know a few weeks before everyone else...

National AP Scholar. Hoping for State. Oh yeah, I wanted to know if anyone knew an estimate for how many needed to become that. Human Geography multiple choice were pretty easy. I wanted to take it last year and read the [Barron's] review book last year, but then didn't. So I read it again, did the questions, and then took it this year. I was a little worried about supranationalism, since I interpreted it a little strangely and used the USSR for it, but it was all right. There are a few things that the Barron's book does not go into, especially in urban geography, like redlining, blockbusting; in political geography, there was nothing on devolution, so I was lucky someone on the board said that it didn't go into that and I read up on it. And something about bid-rent: that wasn't covered in Barron's.

oh my GOD Lucifer, and Nemo especially. Those are AMAZING scores. And i thought i was cool :D oh my god.....jesus....holy....HAH that's great :)

AP Physics B - 4 (thank god, thought I got a 3)
Ap US History- 4 (eh, I was hoping for a 5, but expected)
AP Calculus BC-5, AB sub-5 (expected.. we checked in class and I got 90% right)

That's insane, Nemo. Congrats.

5- Calc
5- Stat
4- History

Not too shabby

AB Calc- 4
BC Calc- 4
US Govt- 4 (expected a 5, but same credit nonetheless)
Spanish Language- 3 (expected a 1)

So i didn't get all 5s like you guys, but I'm proud:)

Ironically, I'm a bit worried about my Human Geography score.. I wrote absolutely fantastic essays (I think I hit all the points), but I left 10 MC blank. Considering I did decently on the rest of the MC's, can I still make a 5?

Bio: 5
Comp Sci: 3 (Meh...freaking multiple choice)

German Language - 5.

Well, I was expecting at least a 4, and this is good news in any case.

US - 4 (cries)
Chem - 3 (expected)
Lang - 4 (sob)
Calc BC/ AB sub - 5/5 (recovers, but then realizes that 30%+ of takers get this same exact score)

i wish i could retake AP's

5 pages of posts and not a single "1" yet.

Calc AB: 5
US History: 5
Biology: 4

I'm pretty stoked...although I deep down wish that 4 in bio was a 5. So much for my 98% in the class.

US History - 5
English Language - 5 (I don't know how I got this. I thought for certain that my grade would be at most a 4)
Physics B - 5
Statistics - 5

when and how did you get your AP scores? Can you check online?
