When I self report my AP scores to ivy schools via common application, do the schools require me to send the official score report before their admission decision? Or do they ask me to send the official report after they accept me? I have one bad score and I would prefer not to use it for my application, but the rest are all 5s and 4s. I would not want to waste these scores (and show them I did well on other classes), so I was hoping I could just not send the bad one. I know reporting via college board shows all AP scores.
Or should I score cancel this bad score if I have to report my official one before the decision? Would college board tell my high school if I cancel one score?
You are self reporting on the Common App so report what you want, you do not generally have to send in your AP score report until after you commit to a school usually after you graduate so that you can include any AP scores from your Senior year. However, I would assume that for an elite school not reporting one AP score is going to stand out like a sore thumb.
But your Transcript shows the AP classes that you took? Wouldn’t that hurt you if you didn’t include your bad scores? Cause what if they think that you took the class without taking the exam?
I’d rather have them thinking that then sending 2…
I’m planning on not reporting my bad one if they do not require AP official score report
