AP Scores

Hello, the short story is that I bubbled in Georgetown's school code on my AP sheet and got 2 fives, 1 three, and 1 two on my exams and was wondering if it was too late to cancel these scores for GU. I already sent in the form to cancel my scores for good even if it is too late for GU, but I was wondering if GU would share these 2 bad scores that they possibly have with Harvard or other schools. I will send in my 2 fives to Harvard, so will they know of the other two scores somehow/will GU share them? Thank you!

Long Story Below

I bubbled in Georgetown's school code for my one free score report for the AP exams. I just got my scores back today and I received 2 fives on AP U.S. History and AP U.S. Government and Politics, but unfortunately earned a three on AP English Language and Composition and a two on AP Macroeconomics.

Is it too late to cancel these scores for Georgetown? I have a 3.8 (4.6 weighted) GPA, 35 ACT, 2300 SAT, and will take the SAT II in November. If there is no way to cancel these scores to Georgetown, will I be completely unlucky in terms of possible future acceptance? Also, I will not share these scores with Harvard, so it will not look as bad for me, but will Georgetown share them?

Am I completely ruined?

I think you’re fine! I was accepted EA into GU this past year with a 3 on my Calc exam, 32 ACT, 3.95 UW (4.42 W) GPA), and no SAT II tests. On my other 4 AP exams, I got three 4s and one 5 (still waiting to see the 2014 scores!). I don’t think universities share information about AP Scores. I don’t know specifically about the policies of Harvard or GU, but admissions counselors from many schools say that high AP scores can enhance an applicant’s portfolio, but low ones don’t really hurt it.

It is too late to cancel the scores for Georgetown. Georgetown is not going to share the scores with Harvard. At the end of the day, your AP scores will have no effect on whether or not you are admitted to either.

Pretty sure your AP scores have no affect on admissions; they are for earning college credits, depending on the score, the test and the school. Georgetown won’t be sharing your scores with Harvard either way. And yes, it is too late to cancel those scores following official guidelines. If you have not yet submitted an application to Georgetown, give them a call and they may be willing to not start a file with these AP scores.
