AP SCORES

Hi
I was filling out my common app scores and I came across to where you self report scores.
I have taken many ap classes, 8 so far, and I have gotten mainly 3's and a couple 4 on the exams. I know the scores are somewhat awful for the schools I want to apply too like Cornell, NYU, UNC, etc so should I self report them? I don't want it to hurt my chances...
thanks

3’s and especially 4’s, are good scores. If you have taken the classes and they are on your transcript, I would suggest you self report the scores. If you choose to not report them, you run the risk of the AO thinking one of 2 things: you were unmotivated and did not take the test or you took the test and scored a 1.

@skieurope positive? I’ve taken MANY ap classes and have taken all the exams. I gotten A’s in all my AP classes with the exception of 2 classes in which I got a B in. So will 3’s (which is majority of my exams) and like 2 4’s be ok? I am taking 5 more exams this year and am really working my butt off for 5’s on all of the,

Yes, skieurope is 100% correct. A 3 will get you college credit on certain exams at some schools. 4s will get you college credit at most schools (dependent on whether they give AP credit or not) on the majority of the Aps.

So should I self report? Will it look bad when colleges view my common app that I got a 3 on majority of my exams. I know I actually get quite a few credits at cornell and unc but not many at nyu

Yes, self report. There is nothing bad about a 3.

Positive. Self report.

@deweystront‌ you’re being extremely offensive on every post from you I’ve seen lately. Knock it off!

That’s great to hear. Can others attest to this??

AP score 3 means proficient, although it may or may not grant you credits in college.
