Hello..........another highschool student anxious/scared of college admissions.....
I just wanted to ask few questions about the AP tests and their impact on college admissions. My school didnot offer many AP classes, but I studied on my own to get some decent scores on several AP tests. Now, how much of influence does AP tests and their scores have on the admissions chances? say if I achieved 5 on all the tests i took, would that help my chances a lot? some ppl say these tests and scores have absolutely no impact on college admissions but I just want to get overall opinion/fact on this issue. thx =)

AP sores, as I think, is quite important. Colleges look at them to see the student's ability to handle college work(That's what they've been saying). Especially for majors Science, they want you to start early.

Well, APs will help your chances but colleges would rather see you in a real AP course, not self-study even if you get a 4 or 5.

Many of the private schools offer a limited number of AP classes to juniors. Therefore, not many AP scores are available to the colleges at the time the applications are sent. Senior AP tests won't be taken until the decisions are made.

so if I self-study and get a 5, colleges would not see that as impressive as actually taking the course itself? My school offers very limited number of AP classes and virtually all the AP tests I am taking (exception of 1 or 2) are by self-study. Is not taking the class to pass the AP exam put me at disadvantage?

neone else...?

comon I know I sound dumb but help me out here

the more ap's you take the more impressive it looks
