ap scores

I just got my ap scores in the mail today and i'm wondering if they will have any impact on my credits at USC (I'm a freshman, starting Fall '07). Does anyone know? I passed English Literature, US Government and Politics, and Statistics.

Passing with a 3 usually only translates to receiving elective units. On the other hand, a 4 or 5 on an AP exam could possibly count as G.E. credit. The following is a link to the USC Office of Articulation webpage, which breaks down which APs are accepted for only elective units, as well as which APs are accepted for G.E. credit.

<a href="http://www.usc.edu/dept/ARR/articulation/apexams.html%5B/url%5D">http://www.usc.edu/dept/ARR/articulation/apexams.html</a></p>

If you check your Transfer Credit Report (go to my.usc.edu and then click on Oasis), it'll tell you how many credits you're getting.

A related question - if when she took the May 2007 APs, my D requested that they be sent to USC, will her scores from previous years automatically be sent as well?

Yes... When I checked my Transfer Credit Report, it included scores from the previous years.

thanks, for the great answers

Some departments accept APs as lower division major courses. For example, for Political Science, AP U.S. Government counts as one of the two required lower division courses.
