AP scores

Is it just me, or does the status website not show whether or not they've received official AP scores, only the SAT and SAT IIs???

They don't ask for an official AP score report until after you're accepted.
They would only display SAT and ACT scores.

oh okay, thanks so much!

No need for an official AP score report until accepted AND matriculated.

thanks again, but is this for all schools as well???

^i'm pretty sure it's like this for most schools since AP credit is really only for placement and/or getting some hours in before actually going to college, not for admissions

so i got a 5.. four 4's.. and a 1 (in spanish)... but all my other test scores (SAT:2310, GPA:98.7 <unweighted>, rank:3> are decent... will my AP scores lower my chances?</unweighted>

No..you self-report, so you don't have to report all ur AP's...I'm pretty sure. However, it would still look nice if you had all great AP scores..someone correct me on this?

I'm not sure if this is right, but ive heard many people tell me that Yale, Harvard, Princeton, and all the other top schools dont (or just hardly) look at AP scores. They should never cause you to lose admittance even if you had all 1's. But yeah, someone please correct me.

and by the way, I hear Notre Dame accepts a 1 on the Spanish AP (altho not for much credit)

tomjones... I forget, BUT
AP scores, just like the SAT scores, leave a history of courses and exams you have taken,
so when you make the company ("THE" company) "report" your AP scores, the Collegeboard will send
EVERYTHING!!! So better not mess up in any exam.

5's look better than 4's. They just have to. HYP would be stupid if they didn't use AP performance as a serious metric to reinforce junior year GPA.

I mean, the common app asked us to self report our APs this year for the first time ever. I think that this year they'll HAVE to consider AP scores (if they didn't before).

Besides, I think that if someone has obtained National AP Scholar, they should consider that as at least a very serious academic honor. (heheh I'm biased, but I really did have to work very hard to self study in order to have 8 APs.)

A solid string of 5's (like 7 or more) on AP's is a better predictor of top academic performance than good performance on multiple choice-only standardized tests. So if you have those kinds of scores, I suggest you hassle and make sure every top school you apply to gets your AP scores in both official and self-reported form.
