ap scores

what were your ap scores for those of you who were accepted? and did you send them in or choose not to?

im planning on applying early decision and im freaked outtttttttt

i got a 4 in english lit

i got a 4 on world history and a 5 on lang & u.s. history. i sent them in, just because i thought they’d enhance my application, and the admissions counselor at my information session said that they definitely take them into consideration if you want to send them (but don’t feel obligated to if you don’t like your scores)

oh ok did either of you do an interview?
if so how did you think it affected your admissions?

Your AP scores will probably be reviewed with respect to your school’s profile on AP performance. D’s hs has a history of celebrating 3s and up with announcement of passing grades in school news. A 3 at another school would be considered poor performance.

i got a five on both psych and us history… i believe that AP scores can only help you… i dont think they will hurt you. if you are a match for the school, you will get in no matter what you got on your APs…if its a really really close call, maybe great APs would put u over the edge

i got in ED and I had 5s on World History and Human Geography, a 4 on US History, and a 3 on English Lang . I reported my scores on my application but I didn’t officially send them, there was really no need to at that point. I don’t think AP scores are generally used for admissions, I just reported them because I figured If I didn’t then the admissions people might think I did worse than I actually did or thet I didn’t bother to take the exams. I say as long as you pass an exam put it on your application. If you don’t then maybe just leave it blank. Also if you think about it from their perspective sure they want you to do well on the exams but if you don’t then that’s less credit they have to give you which is more money for them : )

Well if this helps I applied early decision and I didn’t send any of my ap scores, so if you do well then send them (4 or 5) but if not don’t bother.
Good Luck

If you are concerned about what is sent in terms of scores, you need to have a conversation with your hs counselor about what they send. It is not uncommon for students to think they have intentionally omitted something like AP scores only to find out that the hs has a sticker with those, SAT scores (some students only want to send ACT), etc. on the transcript. Check!

5 on Environmental Science and World History. 4 on US Gov and English Language. 3 on Studio Drawing.
