I just received my AP scores in the mail today...I was pretty disappointed in myself.

Sophomore Year:
Comp Sci A - 1
World History - 2

Junior Year:
US History - 1
Eng Lang/Comp - 3
Human Geography - 1
Spanish Lang - 2
Statistics - 2

I heard colleges don't use AP scores as part of the admissions process, but they still look at them. My scores are BAD. I mean I only passed 1 exam out of the total 7... Will this affect my chances of getting into my desired colleges? I'm a rising senior and now I'm not so confident in myself :/

You don’t submit your AP scores to colleges. You can voluntarily report them on your application but you are not required to. If you are not happy with your scores, leave that part of the application blank.

Number one, you don’t have to send AP score reports to each school that you apply to, and in fact, they only allow you to designate one school at test time to send a score report to. That’s because AP scores were never designed to be used for admissions, just placement. Some schools ask for you to report them on your application, but you are not required to do so.

Number two, even if you choose to send your score reports to certain colleges, you certainly can choose what scores to send. It’s called grade withholding. There is a $10 fee per grade, per college, and the request has to be sent by June 15 of the year that you plan to send AP scores.
