AP Scores?

Is it necessary to send in official score reports? I have a 4 and a 3 I'm not exactly proud of, and I did not self-report them on the application. My transcript does list all the AP scores, however, so do I even need to spend $10 and send in a score report?

Thanks for any help.

Anyone have a quick answer? The deadline is tomorrow =</p>

No. Most colleges prefer you don’t anyway until you are accepted (so they will verify). Although it probably won’t hurt self-reporting a 3 and a 4.

Reporting the 3 might hurt, especially if its related to a field you’re interested in [ie. a 3 in AP bio as a biology major]

There’s no need to report all, or even any, of the scores. All AP scores are self-reported during the admissions process; you don’t have to send any score reports. Personally, I ended up self-reporting a 5 in Bio, Euro, and Lit, and ignoring a 3 in Chem. I didn’t end up getting any school credit for any of those tests, though, since I’m not taking any biology or English courses.

i got a ap score report sent to columbia simply assuming that, like with their other standardized tests, they prefer score reports directly from the collegeboard, and only later learned that self-reported scores are adequate. i hope them won’t be annoyed by this?

Eh maybe, but it’s probably okay :)

After reading through the posts, I’ve decided to not send an AP score report.

Thanks to everyone for responding.
