AP Seal Accidentally Broken

If someone's AP multiple choice seal is accidentally broken on one side, will their scores be cancelled?

well there’s two others so maybe theres hope! How’d it break?

Let’s say this theoretical person accidentally broke open a seal because he thought he needed to put it on the AP number sticker area and the other two were intact after he/she took the exam. Would his/her scores be invalidated, delayed, or nothing b/c sealing is just a precautionary measure to make sure that your teachers don’t look at them?

Sorry, all of your scores will be canceled. This happened to me last year. On the AP Calculus AB test I accidentally tore one of the seals so only two sides were properly sealed. All three of my scores were canceled.

lol trolololololol^

@KamranZahid, what the heck to your username. Who are you? @yodelo, so I should be fine as in my test will be graded?

Honestly, just by virtue of logic, I doubt it.

Whatever you write in your MC booklet isn’t scored, so it’s not like changing your answers on their/breaking the seal would make a difference. They grade the scantron.

For all they know, it ripped in the mail.

@rescuelullaby, thank you for your kind logic. I agree because the seal, in my opinion, is mainly a way to ensure that teachers or students don’t look at exams after they are done and discuss questions. So, I shouldn’t really worry it?

@DoctorMagic: I’m not sure what you want to know. My name is Kamran Zahid so I made it my username as well. Is there a rule on this forum that I have not read? If so, I apologize. I am new to this forum, so if someone could point me to a list of rules/etiquette I should follow here it would be much appreciated. Thanks!

Also, I should reiterate my previous comment. All of your scores will be canceled. I called Collegeboard after receiving my score report to inquire as to why they had been canceled. They said that it was because one of the seals on my booklet had been broken, so there was “reason to believe that * had compromised the security of the exam.”

@KamranZahid, dude, do you really expect me to believe that you are not mocking me with your username? That’s bs. Also, @rescuelullaby and @KamranZahid, one broken seal on the AP multiple choice invalidates all your scores…? The multiple choice exam doesn’t even have answers on it, just questions. If this theoretical person was the only one in his/her group to have their seal broken, would that not show just plain out foolishness on the exam-takers own part and NOT compromising the integrity of the exam…?

I don’t understand why you think I’m “mocking” you…your username is DoctorMagic which bears no resemblance to KamranZahid. And yes, one broken seal will invalidate your scores. I don’t agree with this rule either but it’s what happened to me last year. If you don’t believe me then just wait until July.
