AP self study ....... advices&helps :[ !

Hello :]
So. I'm currently a sophomore and taking 2AP classes.
And I've been self-studying for other APs like human geo, psych, and stat.
Today I went to talk to this person who is in charge of AP stuffs..
and she said I CANNOT TAKE THE EXAMS BECAUSE I DIDN'T TAKE THE CLASSES.
I was like. what the heck.?
Yeah and my counselor said the same thing.....
and my counselor also has mentioned that colleges would think it's weird that I took the exams but not the classes.
Is that true?..
Oh.. and the colleges i want to apply don't really accept APs as their credits..
would it still matter tho?...
I'm soooo stressed because of this!!! =[
give me some advices & helps.
thanks!

that’s strange. I am taking AP Econ (micro and macro) and i am in the class, but my friend who takes CP Econ is also taking the AP test for micro and macro. As far as I’m concerned, you should be allowed to take them.

If you’re willing to pay the testing fees, they can’t hold you back from taking the tests. You just might have to take some of the tests at another high school.

Yeah you can always take it at another school, but you’ll just have to pay more. Also, if the colleges that you want to go to don’t accept these as credits, then there’s really no point in taking the test then. Frankly, i think that self studying is an advantage; colleges will see that you went beyond if, for example, your schedule couldn’t fit that AP class so you self studied.

You should have asked before…

I asked to CB via email and they told me that you can take AP test without taking the classes. Just check the test schedule!
