If you have 7 ap's and they all are 4 and 5. Do they give you the credit of units and can this bump you up to sophmore standing based on registration?

Depends on which 7 you took
You need 45 units to be a sophomore

so if i have over 45 units (AP + college classes)...i am considered a sophmore?

Yep. Sophomores are 45 - 89.9 units. Remember that unless your AP credit/college classes specifically count towards satisfying major requirements or GE requirements, those units will be "empty." You can use them to satisfy the 180 unit minimum needed to get a degree from the College of L&S.

how do i check if they satisfy major requirements?

Follow the link given by grark and see what subject area credit and distribution requirements the AP classes you have taken provide. The chart under each college shows what credit they give.

Also check to see what (if any) specific ucla course you get credit for, since you can't duplicate credits you already have.

Then look at the requirements of your major and use this info you gathered above to see what major requirements they satisfy.
