i know the test has changed this year, but does anyone have a copy of the way they graded last year's test? you know.. the approximate score breakdown and everything? i know a lot of teachers give these out so you can take practice tests and grade them yourselves using the actual curve that they use.

Try google it or do some seraches on collegeboard.

did u find the answer?

bump...........

I would love to know this too. Even the almighty Wikipedia is silent on the issue. Does anyone even have a educated guess? My take is that the number of native speakers is going to make the curve less generous, so maybe 75-80% for a 5? (I really have no idea.)

XDDD...I know a native speaker that got a 4 last year. But uh, yeah score breakdown's roughly something like this:

25% Listening comp (short/long dialogues/narratives)
25% Reading comp
50% Free response (informal/formal speaking/writing)

180 minutes for each half of the test.
We took the 1993 test, and although it's not exactly recent, the curve was 1.012 for multiple choice and 2.33 or something for free response.

It's a good thing that evil fill-ins only count for 2% of the test. Too bad I'll fail simulated speaking anyway.

That sucks, I just spent an hour doing the old fill-ins.
Do you know how much other specific sections count. How much is the essay worth? How about the speaking?

You're right, they are evil. I spent my high-school Spanish career saying that accent marks are pointless because it's much easier to use context - now I'm screwed because I have to idea where to "sprinkle" them around my words.

Ouch. XDDD as a class, we've improved from getting, what, 3/10 w/o roots to a whopping 5/10 over the year. Don't stress too much.

Worship the essay! It will totally be my saving grace (if there's any hope for me at all). You take your raw score and multiply that by 4. Yes. FOUR. You can get 36 points alone from your essay.

They're totally evil. That and the fact that my teacher introduced them as "evil fill-ins" from day one. Got a review book for accents?

I have the Barron's one, which has a review of accent marks in the back.

Sweet! Hopefully I'll do well on the essay then (i.e. avoiding all of the things which I don't know how to say).

I thought this was cool, if unrelated http://lomastv.com/. This would have helped had I found it a couple of weeks ago, since I have a hard time understanding people when they talk like auctioneers.

You feeling pessimistic about this too? I would have faked my own death to avoid it, but I have other APs later in the week. Think the proctor will let me have a last cigarette before I face the gallows?

Nice. I've got Barron's new one and REA for the practice tests.

Ehehe, let's all do well on the essay! The minimum is only 200 words <-- a joke when you're in AP Eng.

Oh yeah? I might try that website out. I've just given up on speaking. I mean, I practice writing and stuff with friends that are abroad, but otherwise..ehehe.

I'm feeling pretty badly about it, but nowhere near as bad as about Phys. B. I almost want to fake sick, but I'd only delay the pain. Thank god it's first for me, so I'll just get that over with and eject the class from my mind. You might get a last smoke...unless you've got a hellbent proctor.
