I'm excited for all of my classes senior year, but I'm not sure how to feel about the AP Spanish Language class I signed up for. I've done 4 years of Spanish up to this point, and I've always done well with relative ease, but I don't know how different this class will be.

Can anyone who has previously taken this class provide me with some insight?
--Much homework? Difficult to get an A? Fair AP Test? Enjoyable? Worthwhile?

Any insight would be appreciated. Thanks CC, you're the best.

@NewDivide u have nothing to wory about, i was a non native speaker, i started learning spanish freshman yr just like u and i got a 5, my teacher wasnt particularly good but as long as u kno how to write and understand spanish u’ll be ok (i bombed the speaking portion) oh and on the listening portion, they added background music to some of the tracks which so so anoying cuz it was distracting and blocked out the words!!!..after u get a 5 its definitely satisfying, i was expecting a 3…

my teacher gave us a $hitload of hw, it was the most time consuming class, but of cours it varies across schools… i ended up geting a B both semesters,so i guess my 5 tels my teacher that her gradings bad…

Haha sounds good, not crazy about the “ton of hw” prospect given I’ll have to deal with 3 other AP’s, but I guess I’ll manage. Thanks for the input.

Any other opinions?

2nd time my stupid phone has deleted this response so it keeps getting shorter everytime haha. Im a Nonnative speaker and made a 5. Ap spanish was one of the 6 aps i was taking last year and i didn’t have too much trouble balancing it so i wouldn’t worry too much about it. The class was intense with multiple essays and speeches each week but i kept a high a and we didn’t get more than 15 minutes of hw on a given night. More than anything practice listening. I recommend advanced notes in spanish podcasts, radio nacional de espana (rne, its an app in the app store), tv shows or movies (both can be easily found on youtube). If you cant listen, the only part of the test you can completely do is the mc reading so be sure to practice that more than anything else. I loved ap spanish and im sure you will too! Good luck im sure you will do great!!

Thanks so much KimberlyNicole. 15 minutes of work per night sounds right up my alley haha I’m afraid of senioritis and homework is usually the first to go for me! Knowing you balanced it with 6 AP’s and I only have to contend with 3 is comforting.

I always get nervous during listening sections because I pay more attention to picking out and visualizing the words of the speech more than translating and understanding. We have an experienced teacher at our school though so hopefully he knows how to prep us well. Thanks again to both of you for the response!
