Did anyone else not get their Spanish Language score? On my report it says "Exam is being completed - and should arrive within 3 weeks." Why?

My son got his today by mail. Bad news....a 2. He can laugh about it because he took the Spanish CLEP test and already got 6 credits.

I got mine just fine on time.

My son's Span Lang score is also missing-- but so are his other three scores. The report said * 86 and that they would mailed "as soon as possible" with no other explanation.

I took a language exam late and there is no indication on the score report that I even took it. Should I be worried? I wasn't sure if I'd get the score anyway, but mine doesn't say it should be arriving in a few weeks or anything.

I got my score. My friend who sat next to me int he class didn't, but her score report ensured her she would get hers.

Sungchul - did you take it late or on the test day?

scarolina,
My daughter took the French language exam late, and there is no indication on her score report that she took it either. She's at summer school, so I called the College Board, and they told me it is in their database that she took the exam, even though it's not been scored yet--and that it should have appeared on her score report as taken but not scored.

Hoping she gets her score sometime in 2008...

Yup, I have the same problem. I took the AP German Lang test in late-testing, and have no record of it. I e-mailed the college board, but have yet to receive a reply. MwasereWriter, what number did you call?

Hey, thanks for your replies. I'm glad to know I'm not the only one in this situation!
I called this morning and they told me they are not done grading and that I should expect my score by August 1st..if not, then I should call again.
Hope that helps :)

God, it is so typical that the College Board - the root of all academic evil - would do something like this. Taking one of their precious tests during the late-testing period is like breaking their code of ethics. Oh well, hopefully my German score will be a nice surprise in a few weeks.

I got mine in the mail today.

shrugs

Yeah, 2's aren't necessarily anything to be ashamed of when it comes to foreign language tests. They're a *****, and in my opinion, probably the hardest of all the AP's, because there is so many different skills you need to utilize on each one. No other tests forces you to write, read, speak, and listen to your subject. Plus, all the other tests are equivalent to a first-year college course, whereas the foreign language tests are third-year college classes. Basically I'm saying all this so that I don't feel bad when my 2 comes in the mail.

Honestly, I'm kinda proud of my 2. I swore I'd get a 1 or something because I accidentaly cursed on the recording, I didn't bother with more than two sentences on the big FRQ, and I left A LOT blank. The latter might've helped me though because they take off 1/4 of everything you get wrong. Since I didn't bother with them, nothing was lost (though, nothing was gained either, but...)

Anyways, 2 is POSSIBLY qualified, and if I'm lucky my college of choice will take it. If not, I'll take the Spanish SAT subject w/ listening. I'm decently sure that's the only part of the test I did good on, so I should do pretty well on it.

I guess my impatience got the better of me...so I called and paid the $8 again to see if my German score was up. And it was! So it seems that they might actually be done with grading them, as this one was taken late.

I got my Spanish score, but obviously others haven't. I know of some kids who didn't receive the scores to some of their other tests, too (i.e. APUSH, Gov., etc.)- guess something was up with the grading this year. :/

Scarolina89, do you mind me asking what you got on the test and if that differed from what you thought? I'm just trying to estimate my score and really have nothing to base it off of; if you don't want to, that's okay though :)

yeah, i'll PM you :)

zivichila, the number I called is the AP Services number on page 2 of the AP Student Pack: 888-225-5427. There's a long menu of choices; just wait through them and finally the call will ring through to a CSR. They'll want the usual identification info (name, verification of address and birthdate and maybe the AP number)
