Has anyone here taken the test? I'm in AP Spanish Language right now, which prepares us for the Spanish Language test, and i'm wondering if it's a good idea to take Ap spanish lit as well.

Definitely not. The Lit test for Spanish is incredibly demanding, like the Lang test but in a very different way. There is a list nearly two pages long that must be read BEFORE the AP of novellas, poems, and short stories. If you are considering it for next year then I advise you start over the summer on the reading because the list is extensive. However, by no means should you take the Lit test based off of your study of Language.

I am actually taking the Lit test tomorrow! It is a lot more demanding and isn’t merely comprehension. The immense list should be memorized, but mostly only the novels and stories. Themes and analysis has to be done prior to the test. The poetry is mostly for practicing analysis (the poetry analysis section is an unknown poem). So basically you need to learn to skills to analyze on the spot and pull out themes and author purposes. It is only learned from practice. And learning large amounts of literary terms is a must. There is a lot of memorization and practice involved with the class and the only piece helpful from AP Spanish language is the vocabulary and the essay structure.
