So I'm taking AP Spanish next year, and I'm not fluent in the language. However, I really enjoy it, I can have a pretty solid conversation, and I am devoted to working hard to get better. I figured that since I'm non-native, and I'm aiming for a 4 on the exam that I should start preparing myself ASAP. I think I'm going to start listening to radio broadcasts in Spanish everyday and maybe start watching some Spanish soap operas. Over the summer, I may try reading a book or two in Spanish. If you have any experience with this, what do you think is the best way to prepare before actually taking the course? What Spanish books are good to read? Any advice would be helpful. Thanks!

do all of that PLUS:
read everyday for a solid hour (newspapers, novels, etc)
listen to music in spanish
speak on a daily basis (even if you have to talk to yourself!)
keep a daily-fictional journal
get a penpal (do these exist anymore?)
instead of doing your normal activities in english, do them in spanish (i.e. thinking, texting, other homework assignments, tec.)

my teacher basically taught to the exam which was helpful cause i am far from a natural speaker and i got a 3..which pleasantly surprised me
just know the format well and practice the different activities..this exam is mainly about practice and finding little tricks to help yourself out (if your not fluent that is)
