Ap Spanish Vs Ap Physics

alright, im farely good at both so which one would look better on an application, i only have room for one

only room for one???????????

well, AP Spanish LANGUAGE is way easier than AP Physics. You failed to state which AP Physics test you'll take. If it's B( the easy one), then go ahead and take Spanish. Colleges look at an AP class taken and a good score together. I believe you have a better chance at Spanish. You are the one who'll take it so decide carefully.

sorry, AP Physics B vs Ap Spanish
the thing is, the teacher for Ap physics is incredible, and well-i dont exactly speak spanish as on account of that im white
next year will be my seniro year so they wont even see the test scores, just which one i took- so....

oh,.....got it. Then, by all means, and since you're not too inspired to take Spanish--and taking into account that you have an AWESOME teacher for Physics ( I wished this was the case for my Calc class, =*( )--go ahead and take Physics. Though, I warn you already, competitive colleges (Berkeley, Stanford, etc) DO NOT give any credit to Physics B, only for the other tests in advanced Physics. Do some research if you want your scores to count.

at this stage in the game, i dont really care about neccesarily getting credits, just learning something cool
so which one basically, would a college admission officer be more impressed with-Ap physics B or Ap Spanish

AP Physics B is definitely more challenging and, thus, more appealing to admission officers.

alright thanks-thats the answer i was looking for-anyone else have a take on this? preferabbly from someone who doesnt speak spanish

Psssh, AP Spanish is NOT easy. It's very difficult. I think, personally, unless you want to go into a science career, AP Spanish is much more worthwhile in the future. But it's REALLY hard, don't believe people who say it's easy! There's an incredible amount of studying involved but I think it will pay off more in the long run than physics. Just my personal non-sciency opinion.

But AP Spanish is NOT easy!!!

^^^^Yes it is. LOL. You must dedicate yourself, that's right, but in the end it's relatively easy.

Says the native speaker. Whatever.

I studied for 2 hours a day and still struggled with the test.

I think you should take AP SPanish because colleges always want all years of a foreign language. But, I don't think it'll matter much so just pick whichever one you want more.

ummm....stanford does give credit to physics B. It's geared towards premeds and non hard core science majors. I took ap spanish my junior year and did horribly lol...so take physics (you can always self study for C since you have an incredible teacher)

too bad for southeasttitan since 2 hours a day is not really that much for a nonnative speaker!!! LOL

Think of this. Natives with whom I took the test took the class plus all the previous prep courses in Spanish. They all thought I was gonna flunk it but I dedicated myself and in the end KICKED THEIR ASSES during test day!!!! Not bad for a self study course. :)

Stanford gives credit for Physics B????? HOW LAME!!!!! That just shows why Cal is the top choice in science. They don't give any credit unless you take the hard Physics courses even if you are not planning on majoring in science!!!!

GO BEARS!!!!!!!

2 hours for 5 some months (when I started self-studying for the test), then 3/4 hours for the last week...I don't know but that seems like a lot of studying for me. Not counting maybe 3 hours on weekend. I've only been taking Spanish for three years (I skipped Spanish 2, 5, and 6) and I am happy with how hard I studied and thinking I pulled off a 3

P.S. Why are you such an arrogant jerk?

I'm not being an arrogant jerk, just pointing out why you say it's hard for you.
I struck a chord there, didn't I?????? I apologize for that.

BTW, I answered your question in the other post. The one about Anual/Anualmente ;)

Geared toward pre-meds/non-science students or not, Physics is hard. Freakin's hard.

With three other AP tests to take, I'm curious how much you thought I should have studied per night so it was as "easy" for me as it was for you?

We might differ, though, on the idea of how much studying is appropriate; see, I like to have a life outside of studying, and I think four or five hours total a night is as much as I can handle while still having, you know, friends?

^^^I sense some sarcasm in your comment for someone who accuses me of being a "jerk". You know, as I said before, Mark, the African American, spent 4-5 hours a day with us hanging out. So, pretty much that means NOT STUDYING AT ALL! Gee, context friend, context.

So, if you have hispanic friends, get together at lunch, before school starts, right after classes are over. Whatever. That's a life WITH friends to me. Having a life outside of studying is not exclusive of a select few, like yourself. As a Cross Country varsity runner, VP/founder of a club, and a wealth of community service hours, I have a network of people that I'm sure is more than enough for a HS student. I took 4 APs this year at my HS, and self studied for 2 more. I still have a great life full of recognition and strong accomplishments. I even have Special Ed friends who I tutor and socialize with. A neat and unique experience, if you ask me. The fact that some students do not develop clever ways of preparing for testing is not my, or anyone's fault. Don't come at me saying that you want to have a life and socialize as a way of attacking your oponent. It makes for a great way of exploiting your stance on the self-study habits. There're plenty of ways to skin a cat, and also of "studying/practicing" your skills in a specific academic area.

And, also, if I ofended you I apologized as soon as you made your frustration evident. Yet, you atttack with such vile and resentment. Fighting in internet forums is so pointless. Don't lure me into conflict, you will gain nothing from it, nor will I.

Your apology was preceded by a rude "I struck a chord didn't I?" comment, which hinted to me that it wasn't exactly sincere.

I don't "want" to have a life, I do. But I'm curious. Say your school got out of school at 3, like I did. Four or five hours hanging out after school means this "Mark" (the African American! How wonderfully diverse of you! Extra points for that one) left at, say, seven. You eat dinner and get done at 7:30. Even if you go to bed at midnight every night, you have only four and a half hours to study your six APs, which means you have less than an hour for each. How, exactly, can you call studying for just two hours a day for ONE AP too little?

I'm not going to fall into your trap and brag about all my "neat" extracurriculars. I know I have them and I don't need to prove anything to you.

Not really, 1 hour prior to school, half during lunch, 2-3 after school tutoring in various programs. That leaves us coming out of school at 6pm Mondays and Thursdays only. None of my friends have full schedules so we get out early the rest of the week. That would break apart your whole argument on not having enough time to study for 6 APs. Unlike me, he only takes 2 APs. He concentrates on what's important to him and his school's major requirements. The fact that he's african american in a 45% african american, 50% hispanic community is a no brainer, friend. It's like some communities that are overrun with Asians and whites. Demographics determines acquaintances at a local level.

Oh, and I go to sleep at 2am in the morning. LOL. I'm a zombie! Ha!

I am not asking you to prove anything to me. You got your ***** together, I assume, in order to get accepted to that dream school of yours. We all do.

Oh, and I'm a native speaker. Just to review the Barron's book for 30-45 minutes is more than enough for AP Spanish Lang. For Lit, though, I did an analysis of the required reading every once in a while. Perhaps once or twice a week. Like I said before, I am beyond the AP Spanish level, to some extent. No need for me to kill myself studying all of my life.
