AP Stat: Important Formulas

Hey guys,

I'm in the midst of studying for Stats, and it occurred to me that there is no useful list of formulas that we need to memorize. CollegeBoard releases a formula sheet on the exams, and these are available online, but many of the more important ones are omitted. I'm specifically talking about test statistic formulas.

So, I figure, why not make a definitive list of things needed to memorize for the AP exam!

Cheers!

They don’t give you the rules for geometric probability (but I guess it’s assumed that you could reason those out?)

probability of failures until 1st success: p(1-p)^k
prob. that kth trial will be 1st success: p(1-p)^(k-1)

Alright, let’s make a list, starting with your stuff! I feel like I’m doing good unto all AP Stats students current and future. lol

Probability of failures until 1st success: p(1-p)^k
Prob. that kth trial will be 1st success: p(1-p)^(k-1)

This is a review sheet with formulas in it!

Well, the geometric distribution is rather easily done in the calculator, so that’s more likely the reason why they didnt put it on there?
