AP stat is tha bomb diggity!

They're given to you in Calc too, if you're talking about the AP test. And if you're not, it's a matter of teachers; I wish my teacher gave us the formulas.

I hate stats........ It's so hard at my school! Look at it this way, I have a 99.3 in AP calc and an 85 in AP stats.... Her grading system is horrible....

Oh, and by the way, AP Stats is more of "true" math than Calc is. Calc is essentially writing with letters (in English and Greek) with a coefficient thrown in once in a while.

Lol not really. On the great tree of math, statistics is the branch that fell off and was used to make toothpicks.

I dropped out of AP Stat after two weeks. I had a B- average, which is ridiculous cause I had the top grade in Calculus last year. The teacher marked me off on tests because of my SPELLING. Now, while Stat does contain a lot of writing, it's NOT an English class. My friend got marked off cause he forgot periods at the end of his sentences...he ended up with a B in the class but still got into UCLA. AP Stat the subject itself isn't hard though. I had no trouble understanding the info and doing the homework. The teacher was just ridiculous.

I agree with Calculus > Stats.

Yep, it actually has a practical application. Meanwhile, Calc is just...sitting there.

I take it you're not an engineer then?

lol. Stats is still cool.

okay, i really want some help with my stat project, and if any of you can help i will be forever indebted to you

just pm me if you can help

and thank you so much.

No, actually, I'm a high school student. Wow, this is an old thread.

I say it depends on the teacher.

Stats is so fun for me, I've learned so much and I got my A. But I need to do my work and study to get that A.

Also, my pre-calc teacher makes his has harder than Calc <_<

Ummm...thanks? Not an attempt at humor, just the truth.

AP Stats is an English class with some number crunching thrown in every once in a while.

haha that is the way to go bro. its all about the thrill of leaving things to the last moment and figuring out how to do physics problems while your taking the test. we have an equation sheet for physics and when i take the test is the time that i actually learn how to do the material.
