AP Stat or multivariable?

So I'm a rising senior interested in pre-med who's seeking advice on something:

Would it be better to sign up for AP stat or multivariable calculus next year? I'm just finishing up AP ab calc, would it be too much of a jump to go from ab calc to multivariable? (and why? Because it's about things that aren't covered in ab calc?)

Also, on one side, AP statistics would give me a lighter load during college applications, but would taking multivariable calculus and continuing up onto the next math level benefit me more in terms of pursuing a medical career and with college admissions? (Although I know statistics is something you need in almost every field including pre-med, I don't know how far up the required math level for pre-med goes, would anyone care to share?)

Thank you very much for any and all responses! (:

If I were you, I would take Stats :)

Does your school not offer BC Calc? Jumping from AB Calc to multivariable is potentially possible, but I wouldn’t recommend it since you would have to learn Calc 2 (BC Calc) over the summer. That means you’d have to learn additional integration techniques, calculus of polar and parametric equations, calculus of vector value functions, basic differential equations, and sequences and series (including Taylor polynomials and power series) in about 3 months. It’s possible, but will require a good amount of your time. If you’re school offers BC Calc, take that. If it doesn’t, and you’d like to relax this summer, take AP stats. If you’re willing to put in the extra work, take Multivariable -but don’t be surprised if you have to work harder during the year to maintain a good grade.
