I'm currently a Junior, taking no AP courses. Next year, I know for a fact that I'm taking Ap Calc BC and AP Psych. I'm pretty set on taking AP Stat, but my parents are worried that I'll be overloading myself. I'm up for the challenge, and really want to take AP Stat, not just for the "it looks good on my transcript" thing, but because I actually want to. If I don't take AP, then I'll be stuck with an Accelerated course (which is weighted the same as a regular, academic course).

Do you think I should take AP Stat? Have any of you taken it and love/hate it? Anything would help (:

Well, my school does not offer AP stats, but I will be taking it as a spring semester course at a university near my home (similar class, overlaps the AP curriculum.) I can’t really tell you, therefore, how the course itself would be. However, it is generally agreed upon that AP Calculus is much harder. Considering you really WANT to take it (not just for the gold star on your transcript), I would say go for it. It’s not the hardest course and if you have interest in the subject you should do well.

If you are up for the challenge, study hard, and stay organized then you should go for it.

I’m taking AP stats right now, and I think it is really easy.

AP Stats is 80% basic logic combined with 10% fancy calculator work and 10% technical jargon. If you have a good teacher, you’ll be fine. If you don’t have a good teacher but you’re smart, you’ll be fine.

Very easy AP class, take it. AP Psychology is easy also.
