Hey, I'm just curious about how many exam did the AP State Scholar took in 2007 and 2008.
Is it possible for me to get it? I'm planning on taking 20 exams total.

I think it was something like 22+.... that's just what I've read though.

On College Board's website, I saw one person took 28, and another person took 25, 3 took 22, and something like that. Does that mean California's State Scholars are top 2 or 3 in the entire nation. Say if I take 20, that will be top 10 or something in the nation, so, it's not enough!

Why do you care? That award honestly means nothing. You don't get any money and you'll win it after you're accepted to colleges.

llpitch, wel you have 3 years to do it

3 years to do it if this guy asking the question is currently a 9th grader planning on taking 5+ APs this year...

lol 28 AP exams? Why would anyone do that? I would take 10-12 tops. Any more than that seems like a waste.

Do guys think people will take less for the next two or three years? Well, Collegeboard discontinued 4 of them, right? So, does that mean it'll be easier for the next two years or so?

well, not exactly.

i mean, the four that theyre discontinuing are tests that almost noone vying for state scholar would take anyways. i mean, if i were to take 28 APs in an attempt to get as many 3s as i could (since theres like what, 37 before the cuts?), id cut down on as many language tests as i possibly can, so tests like French lit, latin something, and italian prolly wouldnt make it on my list anyways.

It probably only will affect it since id assume most state scholars would take Comp sci A.

28 = ~2800$ ? Do the AP tests still cost 100$?

Now you see why College Board wants you to be a State Scholar!

Don't many of the colleges restrict how many AP classes can be substituted for credit? Surely it must be something in the single digits.

^ I believe so since it applies to college courses taken in a community college as well. But this is for a recognition not transfer.

It's ok not to transfer all those credits, if people take like 20+, they will have easy times in college, plus brag rights.

Could I have a link to that?

Yeah where is a link to that? I searched everywhere on CB website but can’t find where it lists the number of APs State Scholars took.

christiansoldier was the male AP Scholar for California last year, I believe. He took 20 APs. All 5s
