AP State Scholar??

Does anyone know how many APs and the average test score should be for the AP State Scholar in California??

[AP: Scholar Awards](<a href=“College Board - SAT, AP, College Search and Admission Tools”>Qualifying for an AP Scholar Award – AP Students | College Board)

Did you check on here?

well the ap state scholar is to the top male and female in a state with the most amount of AP exams taken and an average of 3.5 on the tests.
doesnt say how many a usual winner takes.

Because it varies from state to state.

I think the male for California is usually around 25-26, but I could be wrong. I’m certain that it’s well over 20.

The male AP State Scholar for California in 2010 passed 20 exams with a 5.0 average. It was me.

^ Congrats christiansoldier! And yes, the requirements vary from state to state. The state I lived in last year (Michigan) had its female winner take 13 AP tests - I believe it was eleven 5’s and two 4’s. So it definitely depends.

its 25 but they might have changed it.

Anyone know New York’s?

Wow, I never knew that, christiansoldier! Congratulations.

I wonder how many Californians have seen this thread.

arg lol, i wish i was in Michigan hahaha.
20 actually doesn’t sound too bad… but wasn’t the 2009 numbers much higher for California?

“20 actually doesn’t sound too bad…”

PLEASE tell me you’re kidding

considering you take 6 APs junior and senior year, with 3 APs for sophomore, you just need to self study 5 more… problem is the exam scores.

Isn’t this just up to your Junior year? The ones you take in senior year don’t count because by then, one would have graduated, which would exempt one from getting the award.

I’ll only have 15 and I’m a Junior this year… Now I regret skipping Calculus AB…

Edit: Doing some further research, it looks like the APs taken during senior year are actually counted… So you receive the awards after you’re in college?

Further Edit: If one has the most APs taken in state, and that one happens to be a senior when he receives the award, it’ll help for college. Now my hope is that 15 will be enough to win AZ this year. :o
