AP statistics vs AP computer science?

I am heading into my senior year and I am in the position where I have to decide between taking Statistics or Comp Sci. I hope to major in finance in college. I will be taking 3 other AP classes alongside stat or cs (bio, micro and calc). If you have taken either course, do you mind sharing with me your experience (amount of work, difficulty and if you found to be interesting)?

Thanks

I took AP Stats and I loved it! I thought it was very interesting. Some lessons were harder and more tedious, but the workload was sufficient and not overwhelming. This class definitely piqued my interest in statistics and math of that nature. I would definitely recommend taking it, especially if you’re considering Finance.

What type of Finance would you like to do? Quant path? IB? Depends on what you want to do

I assume quant would be cs and ib would be stat?

My only concern is I feel like taking stat with my current courseload could be too challenging. I have heard that it is not as easy as everyone says.

I’ve heard Stats is one of the easier AP’s and Comp Sci is can be very difficult or easy depending on the person

Ok I guess I may go with stat. I just hope that it won’t be too much work. Thanks.

Stat is a joke of a course compared to calc. Most of it is just formulas that your calculator has. It is much better to take comp sci in an actual classroom with a teacher who can help you learn the material while stat you can find countless derivations, applications and worked out practice problems online. Unless you want to waste time taking base level comp sci classes in college don’t take stat, calc will prepare you more than enough to take above base level stat classes in college.
