AP statistics vs Regular Pre-calculus

Is AP statistics easier than regular pre-calculus?

It depends on the school and you. AP Statistics is quite easy, generally. Precalc can be easy, or it can be absolutely insane depending on the teacher. Precalc, though, prepares you for calculus, which likely looks more impressive than statistics.

Statistics isn’t that hard at all, I took Statistics Honors but we covered the same material and went at the same pace as AP since the class was combined. Confidence intervals and significant tests are really easy imo, that’s what we did for like the second semester. PreCalc was easy too, but my teacher was really damn hard with her tests so I did only okay, but the material wasn’t that bad at all. To answer your question, I think they are about the same in my opinion.

i took both in the same semester. AP Stat is a much easier course than pre-calc. This could just be at my school and/or the teacher i got for each course.

I agree with redsox2002 they’re about the same. I took PreCalc and the material wasn’t hard to learn but we had a hard teacher so I ended up getting a B. Then I have several friends who took AP Stat and said it was easy. Depending on the teacher and school I would say they are about the same.

Stats=precalc IMHO. They overlap a lot.
