AP Statistics - worthless?

I've been noticing that not many universities I've been looking at accept any score on the statistics exam, even a 5. So is there even a point to taking the exam, aside from the fact that it will indicate whether you have mastered the course material?

If you’re aiming to get credit, I don’t think it’s worth it. However, if it is for university admissions, then there is a point.

On another note, UK universities also don’t list AP Statistics as one of the more important APs.

Getting the credit shouldn’t be your main focus. Learning the class should. Statistics is much harder and in-depth than high school. It was weird because just bring general calculus into the mix and students begin to get flustered. I loved AP Stats (topic wise) because it’s one of those classes than are, and will remain, useful throughout the years.

I need to take a Principles of Statistics course for my major. A 4 on the AP Statistics exam satisfies that requirement. That is what drew me to the AP course, but I will be using more statistics later on. It is best to take AP Statistics if it goes with what you are studying. Most people at my school, however, take it because they need another math class and they can’t handle/don’t want to take AP Calculus.
