This year I am taking Ap Stat and I dont trust the teacher to cover all the points we need as he has a reputation for bad AP scores. Does anyone know a good supplement for the class? I know there are 5 Steps to a 5 and Barrons, but I would like to know the BEST one, not necessarily out of those two choices.

I need to head out to work now, but my guy totally self-studied this course and got a 5. I’ll come back later today or tomorrow and give you a list of what he used. He found the actual test to be quite easy.

I’m back and have the info. This is what my guy used (self-studied - no teacher/prof):

The Practice of Statistics (Third Edition) by Daniel Yates, David Moore, & Daren Starnes.

Since my guy was self-studying, I bought him the Teacher’s Edition (used). I needed him to have the answers to the problems. The ISBN to find it is:

978-0-7167-7703-8

I also bought the companion CD software which he used some. I’m honestly not certain how much he used it as he generally did his schoolwork while I was at school teaching other people’s kids. Anyway, here’s the ISBN for that:

0-7167-7712-6

The REA Guide (4th Edition) is:

978-0-7386-0790-0

The last two weeks I also borrowed a couple of old “real” tests for him to do for practice.

Hope that helps! Again, he thought the test was easy when he took it (and got a 5).
