AP statistics

everyone here seems to say that AP stat is a joke for self-study.
Well my son is self-studing this subject because everyone on cc encouraged him to do so. It seems the math part is pretty easy but the statistical concept(how to evalu&analyze data) is awfully hard. He does not think it is a joke! and I feel bad since I encouraged him also. any suggestions on how to help him. How much of this part is significant in the actual AP exam? he is aiming for 5. thanks

unfortunately, knowing the concepts are key to earning a good ap score since the actual math part is relatively easy (only requires Alg 1). It's knowing how and when to apply which formulas that counts.

what part of the evaluation is he having trouble with?

he is having trouble with the stat. inference

stat. inference is a rather broad area....like most of stats in my class. what in particular about it?

thanks for your help, just talked to my son and he some how figured it out. thanks anyway

i have an excellent ap stats book/teacher/review book - we are also covering inference at the moment...have him PM me if he needs any help/explanations.

thanks buff. Ill tell him so
