I really can’t decide what to do. I am wanting to take pre AP algebra 2 and AP statistics my junior year. I am scared that I won’t do to good. BTW pre AP algebra 2 is algebra 2 that has pre calc integrated into it. I want to take these 2 math classes at the same time because I am planning to take AP Calc AB senior year. Another thing is that I have been a solid math student. Please help!
@Anthony99123 I have taken AP Statistics and Calculus AB/BC and can safely tell you that you do not need AP Statistics to take Calc AB or BC.
The AP Statistics course description issued by the College Board recommends that you have completed the second year of high school algebra before taking AP Statistics. You might be able to take algebra 2 and AP Statistics concurrently, but be prepared to play a little catch-up.
AP stats is not a difficult math class. It is applied math-not really math but a utility using math.
Thanks for your advice, I am not going to take any other AP classes Junior year later so do you think this it is doable or would you not recommended taking 2 math classes at the same time?
