AP Statistics

What is the best AP STat prep book out there ?

dont worry about buying one...just read ur textbook and do problems out of there

Barron's will overprepare you and the rest of the prep books are really unnecessary and are a waste of money for AP Stats..they have nothign to offer over your textbook

just go to collegeboard...get an educators account and do old practice AP problems

Is Barron's good though ? is it worth it ?

its not worth it..because u will spend more time solving stuff that is beyond the level of AP that u will lose focus of the actual test

if ur goal is to get a 5 on the exam...Barrons is not the key

if ur interested in learning Stats...Barrons is the best prep book out there

Do all the exams on the collegeboard website, that's really the only way to prepare. You may not EVER finish a whole question on your own, but it prepares you for the actual exam and how unpredictable it is. I took Stats this year, and I did really well in the class, but it was the first year the class was taught at my school, so my teacher worked really hard to try and prepare us really well for the exam. What worked best was all the exams she printed out for us (I did also try the review books). If you want to work on short response, do exams. If you want to practice multiple choice, use Barrons.

PS: Do well on the multiple choice. I left 3 whole short answer questions out of the six blank on the exam, and only half did the others, but I still got a 4.

is the course material difficult to learn, would u recommend i get barrons as a supplement, i dont wanna waste money

I don't think the material is hard...it's the problem-solving and applications that make it hard to understand, in my opinion.

are you getting a textbook?
We used this one:
http://bcs.whfreeman.com/yates2e/default.asp?s=&n=&i=&v=&o=&ns=0&uid=0&rau=0
....there are practice questions it looks like if you register.

I would definitely use the tests that are online...you'll just need a place to print them out (school computers are great for this). I would then check half.com for the review books, because it really isn't necessary to buy the most current review book.

here is the textbook we used on half.com:
http://product.half.ebay.com/The-Practice-of-Statistics_W0QQprZ2153709QQtgZinfo

here is one of the barrons books (the 2004 edition...they also have the 2000 edition if you click "other editions") :
http://product.half.ebay.com/Barrons-How-to-Prepare-for-the-Ap-Statistics_W0QQprZ4478358QQtgZinfo

Here is the Princeton Review book (we also used this one...it was ok, if you flip back and forth, some things are taught better in one than the other):
http://product.half.ebay.com/The-Princeton-Review_W0QQprZ5977642QQtgZinfo

thx, but would u recommend barrons

Barrons is a horrible book. PM me your address and I'll just mail you the damn thing for free

I thought Barrons was the best review book out of all the ones we used...I would definitely recommend it. Nothing is perfect for reviewing for the AP, but Barrons does a pretty good job.

Zero you have asked the same question 4 times now, getting the same answer every time. I don't know why you keep asking it. NO, do NOT get Barron's.

Perhaps, Zero is just playing with us!

I thought Barron's was pretty good. Though way, wayyyyy too many roman numeral questions.

I thought barrons was a good book... It's better to be overprepared for an exam rather than being underprepared. It has everything you need to know for the exam + it has 6 practice tests. As far as other review books go, I heard Princeton Review and Kaplan sucked.

can i selfstudied statistics with barons

anyone done so ?

Sighs i have the same question..is Stats Self STudiable through ONLY barrons and i mean WITHOUT a Textbook....

P.S:Must Get 5...
oh and i dont care about overprepping..i am interested in learning..lol

use Barrons

Hey

An interesting social sciences class conflicts with AP Stats. If I were to self study AP Stats, could I simply use Barrons and get by (math comes very easily to me)? If not, what stats book do you recommend?
