AP stats discussion

By that measure, we should have something like this-
median= (10.7+10.8)/2= 10.75
Now upper half-
1 6.6
2 8.2
3 8.8
4 9.5
5 10.7
Median=8.8

Lowe half-
6 10.8
7 10.9
8 13.2
9 13.3
10 14.3

Median= 13.2

So Q1=8.8 and Q2=13.2

If we include the first median in the list-

Lower half-
1 6.6
2 8.2
3 8.8
4 9.5
5 10.7
M 10.75

median=(8.8+7.5)/2= 7.15

And a similar incorrect result for the lower half…

So I guess I just didn’t get it!
HELP!

You DON’T count the entries that were part of the calculation for the media.

You use 1-4 and 7-10.

Your answers are still wrong though.

[Interquartile range - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia](Interquartile range - Wikipedia)

So basically the answers given are wrong?
I found the question/answer at [Exploratory Data Analysis](http://www.mrholloman.net/APS/Notes/Chapter01/apsnotes01.xht)

why dont you just plug in the values into a list and use 1 var stats to find everything?

I’m about to take this in 15 minutes lol. I’m so effed.
Good luck, everyone! :)

Didn’t get you eliminator.

MCs were much harder than those of barrons…
FRQs were okay I guess how did u guys think

To find the quartiles, enter the data into a list, press STAT, then CALC then 1 (which is 1 Var Stats). Scroll through the answers and they’ll reach it eventually.

i thought MC was kinda hard
yet FR was a breeze
easiest question in 6 in years.

MCs were okay.
FRs were okay as well, except for the second one :(.

mc’s were okay…the frq were okay…but i was pressed for time, so don’t know how good i did there…b/c our proctor said we could go whenever everyone finished…and i ended up being last, with 6 ppl. mad at me.:)…
how hard do you think the curve will be?

Idk about you guys, but I probably used a total of 2 equations from the formula sheet for my FR answers.

the MC was mad hard
FRQ…SUPER easy

I thought the whole thing was alright; FR was easy. Given the curve, I expect I’ll get around a 4 or so.

I self-studied for the exam! (I read 20 out of 27 chapters of the textbook and I attended the AP Stats class at my school for a month). And I thought I would be absolutely slaughtered because I really didn’t know too much about… basically any of the inference tests. But the exam seemed really very easy.

The ironic part: I was unable to do the first problem on the FRQ. Isn’t the first problem always supposed to be basically the easiest one on the FRQ?

The multiple choice were much harder than usual…but the FRQs were much easier than usual, so I guess it kind of balances out.

No actually. I’m assuming you could only not do the latter part of question 1. It wasn’t hard; it just was the second to last unit so you wouldn’t have known it by not having gone through the whole course.

yea i didnt think it was that hard
considering that i didnt study at all for it and didnt learn anything from class
i think i will probably get a 3
but i guess they never change the free response
cause they are always ask the same material

Can we discuss MC or is it not allowed?

wait, we can discuss FR?
