Lol, I registered for AP Stats this year, but they didn’t give it to me. :/

Spanish 5 or above is a must to be taken and will be weighed when applying to colleges. I believe that if you are a NY resident, dropping out of anything above Spanish 4 is considered bad because you need to take the regents for it and pass it in order to fulfill the number of credits for graduation. It is the best that you tried to the highest grade as possible in any of your classes, for colleges want students with A- or above.

When I finished fulfilling all my foreign language by the end of Junior year, that didn’t stop me from taking Spanish. I basically proceeded to Spanish 7 & 8 Honors as a Senior and wanted to challenge myself. I have had no problems failing the class since September and I’ve been getting good marks without even trying my hardest. However, the workload is rigorous. :[

We only have up to Spanish 5. I don’t live in NY so no reagents for me =P. How much would not taking spanish my senior year affect me? I hate spanish a lot and I am sooooo bad at it. I’d rather take an AP class than Spanish 5 lol.

Take it! Build up your college resume with as much challenging courses.
Do not dropout. Colleges wonder “geez, did this student get lazied out in his senior year?”
AP + completing the language will benefit you more, trust me.

No it doesn’t make me feel better lmao. It’s not dropping out… it’s just choosing not take it lol. Don’t most people who take 4 years of spanish only go up to spanish 4 anyway? I’m so reluctant… I wish we didn’t have this choice to make :(

Once you have 4 years of a foreign language or sometimes even 3, colleges don’t really care if you drop it as long as you replace it with a similarly rigorous course.

Stats is pretty interesting. I like the class a lot. It’s not hard, but it’s not something you can get an A on with your eyes closed (although many people on here act like it is).

I heard colleges like it when you follow through with foreign languages, so I would take it if I were you.
