ap stats is..

going to be the death of me. like i don't understand what's happening here. the things we cover in class make sense and are basically easy and i can get through the homework decently usually, but when i take a test everyyything seems completely different from what we've learned and i panic and screw up. SOMEONE HELP ME. everyone keeps saying stats is more englishy than any other math. i'm great at english but it doesn't seem to be helping me here.

It’s hard because every problem is completely different from the next.

Is it the math part of it (z-scores, calculating r/r^2, Standard Deviation, etc) or the analysis part (interpretation of summary statistics, designing experiments, etc) that’s giving you a hard time? My teacher says the math concepts aren’t even that important on the AP exam; only the conceptual questions really matter.

If you need help with any problems or anything, PM me. I’m holding up in the class so far.

before u do your homework, always make sure u thoroughly read the introduction/go over the examples first. that should help a lot with the concepts. & be sure u ask your questions in class;u don’t want to be clueless & get behind on homework.

I dunno, I think stats is really easy. However, my teacher is completely incompetent and we’ve only ever had one student make a 5 on the exam in the history of our wonderful little school. I should start looking at PR. But I probably won’t until april. haha.

What are you guys doing in APS right now? We’re doing some stuff with finding the mean of the population given some statistics about a specific sample size. Finding confidence intervals and whatnot.

it’s definitely the analysis part that’s giving me a hard time because i know all the functions of the calculator and basically everything except the analysis part is on the calculator anyway. we just finished doing z-scores and all that nonsense and now we’re doing like linear regressions and residuals and r squared uuugh. i totaaallly understand everything but the tests make you REALLLYY apply what you know to weird problems and i just screw it all up. IT’S SO FRUSTRATING.
thanks, loon! i’ll keep you in mind

i agree
stats can be challenging
if you have questions PM me
i have an A in my class(only person)
