<p>Hi, so I'm trying to decide which math class to take next year, AP Calc or AP Stats...</p>
<p>I want to major in Biology or Microbiology and all of the schools I'd like to apply to require both Stats and Calculus as major requirements. The AP Calc AB teacher at my school is not so great (average AP Test score was a 2 last year...), but the AP Stats teacher is better. I can't take both due to scheduling conflicts.</p>
<p>Will it look bad if I take Stats rather than Calc? I'm not the best at math; I got A's in Geometry and Alg2, but took Precalc as a one semester college course and got a C :/ </p>
<p>Hi, i am not sure but maybe stats is better for you, if calc has bad teacher and you not best at it, you will find it too tough. Stat is more important to biology i think, calc is maybe better to take in college but maybe i am wrong.</p>
<p>Both have a lot of applications in biology, so you’ll eventually have to take both. I personally enjoyed calculus much more IMO (as a math major now) - AP Stats was pretty boring, and didn’t cover many topics in probability theory.</p>
