AP Stats or AP Enviromental Science?

I'm debating on whether to take AP Stats or AP Enviromental Science. Here are my classes as of now:

AP Calc, AP Bio, APUSH, Honors Eng, Regular Spanish, (Stats/Enviromental Science AP), & unknown elective.

Is this course too rigorous? I want to be able to have free time (about 1-3 hours per day at least) for ecs and sports. I can sleep at 12:00 avg. Are APs really THAT hard? It is probably different for every school but I just want a general answer. That is 4 APs (which is like 1 AP above the average of 3 APs?) and 1 honors.

Btw, should I take 6 or 7 classes? If I take 6 I'll have 4 APs and 1 honor & spanish. If I take 7, I'll have 4 APs and 1 honors and 2 electives. What is the point of taking 7 classes? Do colleges actually consider if you take 6/7 classes? Would this give you some "points" in the admissions? I also know that taking 7 classes and getting a B would give you a higher GPA than if you take 6 and got a B.

So, back to the main topic: Should I take AP Stats or AP Enviromental Science? Please give me a review/comparison of each one. Thanks in adv. =]

Anyone have any opinions/advice? I'd be greatly appreciated, thanks.

I've been told stats is pretty easy, but I have no idea about environmental.

I take Environmental Science... and it's pretty easy. If you're more interested in science/politics, take Envi Sci. If you're more interested in math, take Stats. That's basically what it comes down to. If you're planning on majoring in one of those areas in college and don't really care which class you take, take the one that involves your area of interest.

I personally suggest Envi Sci, though- there are many different areas combined... politics, foreign relations, chemistry, biology... even some statistics =)

At least at my school, Enviro is a running joke. My chem teacher quite litterally would not let me take it because it's too easy. It is aimed at on level kids who need another science class. Looking at the scores on the test, with some thought, this is evident; it has some of the worst scores because a lower caliber of student usually takes it than say, Calc BC, which is harder but has higher scores.
On the flip side, I'm currently in Stat, and it's awesome. Very little actual math. More typing in numbers and interpreting what comes out. Very useful to any career in business, research, yada yada. And not overly difficult. APs vary widely. Emag's a beast, enviro and psych are jokes.

Does it acutally hurt you if you take an easy AP class? Don't colleges prefer that you also take the AP exam at the end of the year? What if you skip it, what will they think? I guess getting an A in the class and a 3 on the test will bring your chances or "school weighting" down a bit right? So, I'm not sure what I should do. Is 4 APs and 1 Honors doable? I'm an little above avg student at studying and I would like 4 and 5s on all my AP exams next year. How much studying do you think I will need for my schedule? Thanks

How would they know whether an AP class is easy or not? The difficulty varies from school to school.

I agree. At my school AP Psych is a very hard class because the teacher used to teach it at University of Michigan, a graduate course I believe. She is very strict but her average AP score is somewhere around like 4.9. Something like 60 of the 65 students she taught got a 5 and only one got a 3 (which was the lowest). However, since we have statistics in our classes all throughout our math program, statistics is a joke. Like nobody who takes it gets below an A- or B+ at the extreme low end.

Is AP Stats really that easy? I'm not that good at problem solving and it doesn't seem that intersting (I like math/physics though). Is it really boring or fun? Are the chapters and information really easy to understand?? I heard the AP Stats exam was reallly hard and people don't do that well. I've gone over some m/c questions and they look long and boring. Should I take this class for practice? I need to improve my problem solving skills because I always want to skip them or not do them. They seem too long..

I can't speak for other schools but I don't know anybody who has anything bad to say about it at mine. Ask some people who have taken it at your school.

both classes are a breeze.

Both classes are so-called 'AP Lite' members, and having taken a few of these, such classes are downright easy when compared to those like Physics C. Statistics may be slightly harder than Environmental Science, but not by much. However, check with the teachers; some know how to make classes artificially difficult, and it is best to know this beforehand.

AP Stat has a better chance of getting credit. I hear they're both easy though, esp. enviro. If I wasn't going take an internship for 3 periods during the school day in my senior year, I would take AP stat since I'm going to have to do it anyway for my major (biochem) while APES is not needed for many majors.

Stats is really ridic. I wouldn't take it. It is not fun at all and no one likes it at my school. I took it and it's just drone work...nothing creative, nothing fun, nothing enlightening. Env. sci., I never took, but they get to go to like rivers, make windmills, create habitats....seems a lot more interesting...

AP Calc, AP Bio, APUSH,

Based off that, I'd say take stat. No offense to people taking AP Enivro, but that class is geared more towards people who just want their transcript to say they had at least one AP. With those 3 hard AP courses, why take ES?

Take Stats, it's incredibly useful (although some of the concepts may seem simple at first). A good friend of mine once told me good knowledge of high school statistics was all she needed to get coauthorship on a paper in the highly prestigious journal Science...it enabled her to quickly and easily solve a problem that otherwise probably would have needed differential equations or other techniques from higher math.

idk....i heard at my school AP stats is hard, but the person who told me says a lot of hyperboles and is always dramatic. I do know, however, that environmental science is very simple.

Easier to get a 5 in stat (only 60% correct)

apes and ap stat are both joke classes, but it varies from school to school. stat is well... math. apes is like a mix of history and science and being environentally aware. lol...

check with people who've taken the class already - they can tell you more than we can

Don't alot of colleges require some form of statistics as degree requirements for basically like any degree? I've just been told that, I have no clue if it's right.
