I can take either AP Stats or AP Macroeconomics. I want to major in something like financial math or economics..which one should I take?

Either one would be helpful. I would probably recommend AP Macro, only so you can see if you like it before college. This year I’m taking both AP Micro and AP Macro and I definitely thought that I wanted to concentrate on the global market when I get to college (I want to major in economics), but I realized how much I hate Macro and that I would be much happier eventually getting a job in relation to Microeconomics (economy in an industry)… Hope this helps, they’re both supposed to be great classes, so you can’t make a wrong choice!

Thanks! I am also taking IB Business management which incorporates economics but I am afraid colleges do not know what that course entails! @maymay5678

I dont think you will like economics too much if youre a math lover, as at this level, it is mostly just theory. You dont actually do any derivations or anything of that sort or explore the equations of stuff like Nash Equilibrium. If you are interested in theory or want to see if you are interested, i would take it. I would actually recommend taking both, if you think you are capable of course. Econ is relatively easy imo and ive heard that Stat is a bit of a push over

While econ may be easy, most people tend to actually enjoy the econ classes, which is certainly not the case with stat. Of course, choose the class that gives you the most marginal benefit. Which class gives you more credit in college?
