Completely understand how to put into words your findings (most “difficult” “concept” - it screwed some people over, but I didn’t think it should be that big of a deal)

Easy enough; once again, put into words your results and make sure you’re doing it right.

Depends on your calculator make. There is some inferential statistical analysis on regression lines that might not be provided by your calculator.

Just a little harder than Calculus, so generous (although this will depend on enough factors you haven’t provided that the question itself is kind of useless)

2) I don’t think that Barrons was sufficient alone. I had to look back at the textbook to really understand the concepts.

Not really.

I used both a textbook and Barrons. Textbook helped me more than did Barrons.

It’s feasible, but I don’t know how easy.

I don’t know. It’s your choice.

TI-84 has all the programs needed for the AP exam.

Harsher than calculus, but not as harsh as the AP English exams.

I took this class last year. My teacher was horrible and literally could not teach (she’s getting laid off this year) and gave up after first semester. I honestly never paid attention to her lectures. My sense of panic hit me two weeks before the test when I realized I knew almost nothing about statistics. I studied only from the Barron’s prep book (my school didn’t issue textbooks for ap stats) because I had 3 other AP tests and an IB class to worry about but I succeeded in getting a 5. So Stats is totally doable, just don’t procrastinate studying as much as I did and you’ll save yourself from a lot of stress. There are several programs for the TI 84 that are VERY useful and since cb doesn’t care what is in the calculator (they don’t check) I would take full advantage of them during the test.

I didn’t self-study Statistics, but I did get a 5 and I have self-studied other subjects, so I might be able to help.

Are any of the concepts difficult to understand without a teacher?
That depends on the person. Much of the hypothesis testing can be confusing, but it should be relatively manageable.

Do I need a textbook or is Barrons enough?
I actually highly recommend 5 Steps to a 5. I discovered it the day before the exam, and I attest my 5 solely to that. Not my crappy PR review book, and not my disorganized class. If I had 5 Steps to a 5 for the entire year, I wouldn’t have had to worry so much about Stats.

How easy, in general, is it to self-study this and get a 5?
Probably one of the easier ones, but not the easiest. Honestly, although I could have self-studied, and even though I said my class was disorganized, the teacher did put me on the right track in terms of material. I’m not sure if I would have done as well if I had self-studied.

What month should I start self-studying if I want a 5?
For something like Psych, I would say May =P, but for Stats, start relatively early. At least February.

Are any calculator programs useful for this self-study?
CtlgHelp is a good function that tells you exactly what you need to input and in what order you need to input it in for functions like normalcdf, etc.

What’s the curve like in context (generous or harsh)?
Not sure, but I think it’s a relatively easy exam.
