In my opinion, AP Stats will carry you farther in life than AP Calc, unless you're doing engineering where you probably have to take both. AP Stats is heavily business-orientated and is used in a lot of business careers (which a lot of people end up in anyways). So, what are your opinions? I'm taking AP Stats this year (senior year) because I'm going to study, or plan on, international business with a minor in finance.

I would def do stats if you’re not going into a mathematical field. I took AP stats last year…I thought the class was quite difficult (I got a C-average on tests,) but I am mathematically challenged.
Some people actually think that stats is more difficult than calc…maybe it requires more reasoning? Idk.

Yeah, stats is useful for pretty much anyone no matter their major. I think it’s hard for many f people because, I guess, it requires way more writing than expected? And unlike calc which builds on (and is often easier than) pre-calc, it covers a lot of new material. Calc basically has two ideas and that’s it…

Can I take AP Stat before AP Calc? I want to take AP Stat in my junior year along with honors pre-calc and AP Calc my senior year. Can it work out?

Yeah, At my school AP calc and AP Stat are like the same level, and neither is required for graduation (so nobody cares which one you take). BUT, pre-cal at my school is a prereq for Stat and Calc. So… I’m pretty sure you’ll have to take pre-cal first unless its different at your school or you work something out with the teachers.

Yes, Teaspoon, me too. And yes, AP Calc just builds on, and becomes more annoying and particular, hahah. So, being said, GO AP STATS!

AP Calc is more interesting. You begin to actually see underlying mathematical principles and the beauty of mathematics - given that you truly understand it. Stats is mostly calculator work and memorizing formulas. Compared to my Stats class, Calc was heaven.
