AP Stats vs AP Calc?

My Guidance Counselor emphasized to me that when given the two options, colleges would much rather see AP Calculus in your schedule than Statistics, regardless of your major. (Obviously, it'd be even better to have both but that's a different story.)

So, I signed up for Calc - however, tons of kids in my school are dropping Calc for Stats because Stats is easier. Does it look all that bad to take Stats over Calc (in your senior year)?

The math sequence would be:
Geometry
Alg II
PreCal/Trig
Stats

^^ Thoughts?

Seeing as you alresdy took precalc, I think that you should go on to Calc. It just seems like the more logical progression.

You figured it out in your own statement.

That would mean you’re not looking to take the most rigorous courseload at your school. Most kids have some exposure to calculus before college - those looking to go to decent colleges, anyway.
