<p>Next year, as a senior, I will be taking AP Calc BC. I am coming from Pre-Calc H, which is quite easy for me. I know that AP Calc will be a lot harder but I think I will be able to do well in it. I recently realized that I can double up on math classes. I was thinking of taking AP Stats at the same as Calc. Does the coursework for these two classes coincide for any topics? I'd like to hear what other people who have had two math classes have experienced? Strictly from a math perspective (as the difficulty of taking these two classes can vary tremendously based on other activities/classes), is taking ap stats with ap calc too strenuous. </p>
<p>Fyi, I want to major in engineering or some other technical field. Although I am not sure because I am also looking into law. But my interests and strengths definitively lie in the sciences and maths.</p>
<p>What other AP's will you be taking? Base your decision on that more so than anything else. For example, if you're taking like 4 other AP's in addition to BC, then don't take STAT, because you may not be able to fully digest all the material for all your AP's, but if you're only taking like 2 other AP's ten, take Stat. </p>
<p>Stat provides good college credit for engineering majors, so its good with that regard. It like an "English" class along with math; its actually pretty easy; the ap test is pretty easy...you should be fine, if you have a strong foundation in math; which, judging from your interests, you do :)</p>
<p>The two classes don't have any topics in common, but AP Stats is very easy compared to Calc BC, so you should have no trouble handling both. However, if you're planning on majoring in math, science, or engineering, AP Stats won't give you any useful credit, so you might want to look into taking something else more useful.</p>
<p>Well I am taking AP Stats w/ AP Calc BC along with a few other AP's/ honors and its not too hard (AP Chem, AP Phys, APUS, and honors english). Stats isn't too hard compared to the calc material.</p>
<p>lol stat is a joke. actually for next year its not even considered a math anymore at my school, just an elective. This year i took calc bc and stat and i haven't done a stat hw this year... lol</p>
