AP Stats???

one more thing, would you guys advise against taking ap stats instead of ap calculus for senior year? i am in pre-calc now (honors), but math is just not my strongest and i think stats might be easier for me. Does it look bad to not take calculus??
Thanks!

AP Calc would fulfill your math requirement at college so you might want to give it another thought.

I personally had more troubles with stats than calc. Calc is basically just one concept and once you grasp that the course is a breeze. I never really understood statistics though.

Some colleges accept AP stats as fulfilling math requirements

Many do not though.

You might want to check the AP Stats policy of the colleges that you going to apply to.

And think about which teacher you like better: the one teaching calc or the one teaching stats. The teacher can make or break the course.

Go with Calc, much easier.. even though I got 5s on both tests..

Calculus is just understanding the principles of derivatives (slopes) and integrals (anti-derivatives or anti-slopes), in addition to how to use them in the geometry of shapes as well as real life situations

I don't think it will make that big a difference, ultimately, but the basic principles of Calc are pretty different from previous math (though you do have to be able to continue applying what you've learned), so I wouldn't discount it right away.Would it be AP Calc AB or BC? If AB, I definitely think you'd be up for it. If BC, and you're really afraid you'll struggle, maybe you should consider Stats. I took stats in 10th grade and it was super easy (5) even then, so I don't think you'll have a problem with that.
I agree that taking the teacher into account would be a good idea. My stats teacher basically handed everyone an A and goofed around a lot, but also taught the material really well and in a fun way, such that people did well on the exam, too. My calc teacher is much stricter, and less "fun". I still liked her, but some people don't. And even for those who like her and excell at math, an A has to be earned, and it's tough.
