Hello! I am going to be a senior next year, and have to begin planning for next year’s classes. I plan on taking AP Stat, AP Music Theory, AP Psych, and am debating whether or not I should double up and take AP Environmental and AP Chem. I am a little worried about the course load, as this is a lot of AP classes. Any help figuring out whether it’s a good idea to take two AP science courses with a good number of other APs is a good idea would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
I don’t think you should take AP Environmental Science since it’s considered an easy AP
If you are worried about the workload, take honors levels in some classes (those not related to your future field of study) instead. Depending on the college, a year each of biology, chemistry, and physics is recommended, so for science, fill those before taking APES. I would also suggest an English class and foreign language, unless you’ve filled those requirements already?
Each school is slightly different as far as AP workloads go, so you may want to talk to students who have taken the classes, the teachers of those AP classes, or your GC so you can make the most informed decision possible. Good luck!
I have already taken 4 years of a foreign language and plan on dropping French as I feel the classes do not help much. I was planning instead to fill that space with AP Chem. I also plan on taking Science Fiction and British Literature instead of a class like AP Lang or Lit in an effort to balance my schedule out a little more.
